Katie was born July 23rd, 1989 and is the daughter of Sam and Chyleen Mock of Ridgeland, SC.  She was home schooled since the third grade.  As a first year student at USCB during the 2007-08 school year, she was the lone woman on the Sand Shark cross country team and recorded a personal best of 20:58 at the Sand Shark Invitational in 2007.  Academically she was named to the Chancellor's List for her first two semesters at USCB.
