A 2009 graduate of Wando (SC) High School, Jessica moved to South Carolina from New Jersey, She was born May 6, 1991 and is the daughter of Liz and Jim Brown. of Mt. Pleasant, SC.  While at Wando, Jessica was a member of four track regional championship teams and was all Region her senior season in the 800 meters while recording a personal best of 2:27.
