THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The USCB softball team suffered another tough loss Saturday, falling 5-2 to No. 14 Thomas in the finale of a three-game Sun Conference series.
The Night Hawks swept the series but outscored the Sand Sharks by a total of only six runs.
All five of Thomas' runs were unearned against Abby Pac, who allowed six hits and walked three in 4 2/3 innings while striking out four.
The Night Hawks plated single runs in the first and fourth with the help of Sand Shark errors, and a two-out error opened the door for a three-run outburst in the fifth to break it open.
The Sand Sharks took advantage of an error to push across two unearned runs of their own in the sixth, but they left two runners on and went down in order in the seventh.
