ck Hardeeville, SC-- The USCB softball team got back to their winning ways this afternoon at Richard Gray Sports Complex, defeating the Bobcats of St. Thomas University (Fla.), 4-0 and 16-6.
The first game this afternoon ended 4-0 in favor of the Sand Sharks with
Abby Pac earning the win in the circle, going seven innings giving up five hits and earning five strikeouts. Pac now stands 8-5 on the season.
The offense got started in the first inning when
Canyon Crosby hit an RBI-single to right field to bring in what would prove to be the winning run in
Taylor Boykin. In the second inning
Melina Martinez hit a sacrifice fly to score
Carrie Cochran.
Alexa Moore capped off the scoring with a two-run shot over the right-center fence bringing home
Kylie Kelly in the process.
In the second game the Sand Sharks were able to put the Bobcats away early with a nine-run first inning. USCBÂ added three runs in the second and four more runs in the third to propel the Sand Sharks to the 16-6 win.
The Sand Sharks were able to go 10-23 at the plate and 15 RBI's. In the circle Crosby gathered the win to improve to 10-1 on the year. Highlighting the win in the second game was
Caroline Heaton knocking a three-run dinger over the left field fence, scoring Moore and Cochran. Heaton led the way for the Sand Sharks with four RBI's.

The Sand Sharks will be back in action Saturday and Sunday at Richard Gray Sports Complex. Saturday's double-header with Ave Maria (Fla.) will also honor Family and Alumnae throughout the day, and on Sunday the team will Strike Out Cancer in their double-header with Georgia Gwinnett.
