Hardeeville, SC - USCB softball did it all on Saturday at Sand Shark Park - hitting, pitching, and flashing the leather - to win two more games and go a remarkable 14-0 on the 2019 season.
In the first game of the day, the Sand Sharks defeated the Rio Grande Red Storm 6-1, behind a strong start from
Sloan Ducey (2-0) and 2 RBIs apiece from
Kaitlyn O'Hearn and
Kayla Boyle. In game 2,
Kayla Boyle again provided the offensive spark for USCB, clubbing a 3-run double and smacking a solo home run (1) to lead the Sand Sharks to a 6-2 win over the Reinhardt Eagles. Over the course of both games, the Sand Sharks made one great defensive play after another, capped by a diving, rally-killing force out by
Melina Martinez in game 1, and an equally incredible, diving force out by
Kaitlyn O'Hearn in the second game.
