HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The USCB softball team used an eight-run fourth inning in game two to upend No. 19 Coastal Georgia, 8-5, after falling to the Mariners, 10-0, in game one of the league doubleheader at Richard Gray Stadium on Wednesday.

HOW GAME ONE HAPPENED
Each team's offenses struggled in the first two innings, as each team collected just one hit in the two-inning stretch.
Coastal Georgia broke that drought in the top of the third with a three-run home run from Paige Alt.Â
The Mariners added insurance runs two innings later to take a 4-0 lead. KalliAnn Sadeski posted a RBI single to give her team the four-run lead.
After leaving a Sand Shark stranded in the bottom of the fifth, Coastal Georgia added another run in the top of the fifth to make it a 5-0 contest.
The nationally-ranked Mariner offense then exploded for five runs in the top of the seventh to take the 10-0 lead.
USCB continued to fight in the final inning, as it posted a pair of hits and a walk. However, the Sand Sharks couldn't plate runs in the double-digit loss.

HOW GAME TWO HAPPENED
Coastal Georgia carried its offensive momentum in the first two innings of the game, as it plated five unanswered runs.Â
USCB's offense nearly scratched across its first run in the bottom of the second, but the Sand Sharks left the bases loaded.
However in the bottom of the fourth, USCB's offense exploded for eight runs. Martin started the inning with an infield single. Emily Phillips came in to pinch run, and Hatcher put two runners on base with a single up the middle. After a pitching change, Locasto plated USCB's first run of the day on a RBI double. Frankhouser walked to make the bases loaded, and Boykin capitalized on a bases-loaded single. Kailtyn O'Hearn followed with a RBI single of her own, and Alte walked to make it a 5-4 deficit. After two quick outs, Martin dropped a two-run single to left to give the Sand Sharks their first lead, 6-5. Hatcher and Locasto again connected with run-scoring hits to give USCB the three-run lead, 8-5.Â
The Mariners tried to retaliate in the top of the fifth, as they posted a hit, a walk and a hit by pitch. However, the trio was left stranded on base.Â
Molloseau continued her hot stretch in the circle, as she didn't allow a hit in the final two frames to seal the three-run win.
