Mariah Stephens, a former Sand Shark student-athlete, returns to USCB as an assistant coach in 2025.
Stephens played for two years at USCB. Over 58 games, she hit .172, slugged .372, three doubles, five home runs, and drove in 17 runs. In Stephen’s first outing in a Sand Shark jersey, she blasted two homeruns; one in each game of a doubleheader run-rule sweep of Anderson University. Stephens was a part of the senior class that knocked off the number one seed in the Peach Belt on senior weekend to secure the Sand Sharks’ first post-season berth in its NCAA era. In her senior year, Stephens served as a team captain.
Before USCB, Stephens got her start at Florence-Darlington Technical College (NJCAA D2) in Florence, South Carolina. Through 82 games, she hit .230, slugged .489, with 16 doubles, four triples, and drove in 46 runs.
Stephens is set to graduate in December 2025 with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
A Fuquay Varina, North Carolina native, Stephens graduated from Willow Springs High School.
