Terica Harris enters her third season as USCB’s Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach in 2025–26.
In her first season (2023–24), Harris coached multiple All-Conference performers, highlighted by Michael Martello, who captured the hammer throw and weight throw titles at the Peach Belt Conference Championships. She also guided several athletes to top finishes and new school records during the program’s debut year in the Peach Belt.
In her second season (2024–25), Harris led the Sand Sharks to more program-first achievements, including Sam Mitchell being named Peach Belt Conference Freshman Field Athlete of the Year. The men’s 4x100 relay team—composed of Cornell Harris, Sam Mitchell, Zach Sellers, and Bryson Shears—won the PBC championship, while on the women’s side, De’Andra Brown earned her first PBC gold medal in the heptathlon. The season also saw multiple school records fall and strong team showings at both the conference and regional levels.
Harris became USCB’s fourth head coach for cross country and track & field in 2023 following an extensive national search.
A native of the Coastal Empire, Harris graduated from Sol C. Johnson High School in Savannah before competing for Marquette University, where she specialized in sprints and jumps. She remains in the Golden Eagles’ record books with multiple top-five marks in the 60m, long jump, and triple jump indoors, as well as the long jump, triple jump, and 100m outdoors. A seven-time Big East Champion and two-time Big East All-Conference selection, Harris earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Marquette in 2018.
She went on to complete her Master’s degree in Kinesiology at Southeastern University, where she served as a graduate assistant with the track & field program. While at Southeastern, she helped guide both the men’s and women’s teams to Sun Conference Indoor Championships and contributed to the men’s team capturing the 2023 NAIA Indoor National Championship.
