Brian Lewis enters his first season as Head Coach of the USCB baseball program after being elevated to the role on July 1, 2025. He spent the 2024 season as the team’s hitting and third base coach under former Head Coach Ted Falkner.

Prior to joining USCB, Lewis served as Head Coach at Viterbo University, an NAIA program in La Crosse, Wisconsin, for seven seasons. While at Viterbo, he coached 10 NSAA All-Conference players and two Gold Glove winners. In 2022, he guided the V-Hawks to the NSAA Conference Tournament semifinals—the program’s deepest postseason run in nearly a decade.

Before his tenure at Viterbo, Lewis was the hitting coach at Illinois Central College (2011–14) under Bear Kelley, the program’s all-time winningest coach. He also spent 11 seasons as an assistant at Lewis & Clark Community College (Ill.), working under USC Hall of Famer and former MLB first-round draft pick Randy Martz.

Lewis also brings extensive summer collegiate coaching experience from the Northwoods League, where he currently serves as Field Manager of the Minot Hot Tots. He previously managed the St. Cloud Rox (2022–23) and the La Crosse Loggers (2016–21), following a three-year stint as an assistant with the Loggers. Over his Northwoods League career, Lewis has compiled 290 wins, ranking 4th all-time in league history.

In the professional ranks, he was the Director of Player Personnel and Hitting Coach for the River City Rascals (2003–06) and Pitching Coach for the Kalamazoo Kings (2010) in the Frontier League.

Over the course of his career, Lewis has coached more than 150 MLB Draft picks, including first-round selections Korey Lee (Astros, 2019), Brice Matthews (Astros, 2023), Chase Davis (Cardinals, 2023), and Charlie Condon (Rockies 2024). He has worked with 14 Major Leaguers, including current players Lars Nootbaar, Riley Adams, David Villar, Mason McCoy, Kyle Nelson, and Brice Matthews.

A native of Alton, Illinois, Lewis holds a B.A. in Organizational Leadership from Greenville University. As a player, he helped lead Lewis & Clark Community College to two Region 24 titles and an NJCAA Division II World Series appearance before finishing his career at Fontbonne University under current Saint Louis University Head Coach Darin Hendrickson.
