Shawn Becker begins his third year as the Director of Athletic Compliance/ADID at USCB in 2025–26 after joining the department in the fall of 2023.
Before arriving at USCB, Becker served as the Head Men’s & Women’s Tennis Coach and Director of Intramurals at Warren Wilson College. Despite much of his time at WWC being impacted by pandemic-related limitations on competition, he worked closely with student-athletes to improve on-court performance while building campus-wide intramural programming from scratch, including the creation of the college’s first intramurals student work crew. His most significant impact, however, came on the internal operations side—leading all game day management efforts for home contests and helping build the department’s NCAA compliance framework as WWC progressed through the NCAA Division III membership process.
Supporting this work was his completion of the NCAA Compliance Certification Program at Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law in December 2021, where he earned a 4.0 GPA and received two CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for his coursework in Compliance Skills and NCAA Governance Process.
Prior to Warren Wilson, Becker served as the Head Women’s Tennis Coach at Missouri Western State University from 2015–2019, guiding the Griffons to three MIAA postseason appearances and the program’s first national individual and doubles rankings in over two decades. Before arriving in St. Joseph, he coached at his alma mater, Philadelphia University (now Thomas Jefferson University), from 2009 to 2015. Starting as an assistant coach, he helped lead the men’s program to multiple NCAA Regional appearances and kept the program competitive in the highly regarded CACC.
Becker earned his Bachelor of Health Sciences from Philadelphia University in May 2012 and his Master of Business Administration in Athletic Administration from Southern New Hampshire University in December 2014. As a collegiate athlete, he competed for three seasons in the men’s tennis lineup for the Flying Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley College before beginning his coaching career.
He now resides in Bluffton with his partner, Kevin, and their dog, Jean Ralphio.
