Jay Harris begins his seventh season as the Sand Sharks' head women's soccer coach in 2024. In 2023, Harris led the women's soccer team to its best record in program history going 13-4-2, including a perfect 10-0 at home. Over the past four season, USCB has averaged 11 wins per year and made the post season each of those years.

Harris is a former professional soccer player in Europe, Asia and United States. Along with his playing career, he coached semi-professional soccer in California, where he recently won the United Women's Soccer League in 2016 with the Santa Clarita Blue Heat. While coaching with the Blue Heat, he led them to back-to-back Western Conference titles and the national runner-up in 2017.

United Women’s Soccer (UWS) is a national pro-am league composed of professionally operated clubs within the United States and Canada. UWS provides high level competition for college players, aspiring and former professionals, and international stars. UWS is the second-highest league for women's soccer in the US.

Harris has made stops at several top colleges as an assistant coach.

Harris holds his United Soccer Coaches' Premiere diploma, United States Soccer Federation C License and is studying for his CSCS to become a certified strength and conditioning specialist.

Harris earned his Bachelor's from Tusculum in Business Management in 2005 and his Masters in Exercise Science from Concordia in 2018.

During his first year at USCB, he led the Sand Sharks to an 8-9-1 overall record, finishing 4-5-1 in The Sun Conference and taking the team to the TSC semifinals for the second time in program history.
In that same year at USCB, Harris has earned the respect of coaches and players alike, being instrumental in several key areas, namely defensively, where the team saw a 32 percent decrease in goals allowed that season.

Beginning in 2019, Harris' record has yet to dip below the .500 mark. Starting in 2020-21, the Sand Sharks have produced 10-plus wins every season, including a program-best 13 wins in 2023. Under his tutelage, USCB has made the postseason in all but one season - the shortened COVID 19 season - including three trips to the conference semifinals and twice to the quarterfinals. Harris became the winningest head coach in program history in November of 2022.
