BABSON PARK, Fla. – The USCB softball team opened a big Sun Conference series at Webber International with an impressive 9-2 win over the No. 11 Warriors on Friday at Nancy Nichols Field.
Freshman Kaitlyn O'Hearn went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs, and Taylor Boykin and Marissa Becker each added three hits to lead the Sand Sharks' offense in the opener of the three-game series. 
Abby Pac limited the Warriors to two runs and three hits in a complete game, striking out six and walking three. 
O'Hearn's RBI single opened the scoring in the first, but Webber International answered with a run in the bottom of the frame. Boykin's RBI double put the Sand Sharks back on top in the second, but the Warriors again responded to tie it in the fourth. 
Haley Hawkins delivered an RBI single in the fifth to put USCB ahead again, and the Sand Sharks erupted for six runs in the sixth, with O'Hearn's two-run single doing the most damage. Kayla Boyle, Natassja Hatcher, Lauren Weidig and Brittany Olean also had RBIs in the big inning.
