HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The USCB softball team opened its three-game Sun Conference series against visiting Keiser with a 5-1 victory Friday at Richard Gray Sports Complex.
Marissa Becker went 3-for-3 and scored two runs, and Alexa Moore and Natassja Hatcher each had two RBIs to power the offense, while Abby Pac struck out four and allowed one unearned run in a complete game.
The Seahawks pushed across an unearned run in the first inning, but the Sand Sharks answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame and Pac never let Keiser back in it.
Kaitlyn O'Hearn plated the tying run with a sacrifice fly, and Moore and Hatcher followed with back-to-back RBI doubles with two outs for a 3-1 lead. Moore added a sacrifice fly in the fifth, and Hatcher followed with an RBI single.
Pac retired the final 11 batters following Alyssa Cabral's bunt single in the fourth.
