THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The USCB baseball team was outslugged in the opener of its three-game Sun Conference series at Thomas on Friday, falling 17-7 to the Night Hawks. 

Brandon Joyce went 3-for-5 with an RBI and scored twice, Alex Murphy had two doubles and two RBIs, and Kal Davis, Bobby Wenthe, and Nick Payne each added two hits and an RBI for the Sand Sharks.

USCB took a 7-6 lead on Davis' RBI double in the fifth, but the Night Hawks tied it with a run in the bottom half of the inning and broke it open late, scoring three runs in the sixth, five in the seventh and two in the eighth.
