Bluffton, SC-- The USCB women's soccer team defeated Johnson & Wales University (Fla.) this afternoon at Fin Land Field, 1-0.
The Sand Sharks took only 1 minute, 15 seconds to put away the lone goal of the match when a counter-attack from a Wildcats' corner kick ended up on the foot of
Anna Gignilliat, who used her speed to beat two defenders and slip a ball across the box to an on-running
Baylie White. White made no mistake in burying her third goal of the season in the open net.
Dina Stalnacke and
Brittney Neser anchored a defensive line that held JWU scoreless for the first time this season, including one of the Sun Conference's top scorers in Savannah Jackson.
