Hardeeville, SC-- After 12 days off the USCB softball team was slow to get going this afternoon at Richard Gray. The visiting Eagles of Reinhardt University were able to edge the Sand Sharks by a a score of 5-4 in each of the two games in today's double-header. The two games today were on par with the historical series between these two programs. Every game with Reinhardt University have been decided by one run.
In the first game the Eagles were able to plate three runs in the third and an insurance run in the fourth to put the game out of reach for the Sand Sharks. USCB was able to score two runs in the bottom of the fourth and another in the fifth to come within one run, but the team was not able to bring home the tying run in the last two frames.
In the second game of the double-header, the Eagles again bested the Sand Sharks by a single run. USCB was up 3-2 going into the sixth inning before the visitors were able to get the go-ahead run off a 2-RBI double by freshman Alise Hooks. Jennah McElheney then added another with her RBI single, plating what would turn out to be the winning run.

Alexa Moore and junior transfer
Kylie Kelly led the way for the Sand Shark offense today. Moore went 2-3 in the first game and Kelly went 2-4 with 1 RBI in the second.Â
Freshman pitcher
Maria Molloseau continued to be impressive in the circle for the Sand Sharks. Molloseau threw a combined 4.1 innings today, giving up 4 hits and 0 runs.
