Hardeeville, SC-- USCB softball split a double-header with the University of Rio Grande (OH) this evening at Richard Gray Sports Complex, dropping the first game 0-2 and winning the second 3-0.
The first game with the Red Storm was scoreless going into the seventh inning where junior Carly Skeese was able to come across the plate to score the winning run. Junior pitcher Kelsey Conkey was able to help her cause later adding an RBI single to finish off the scoring for game one. Conkey picked up the win for the Red Storm in circle, going 7 innings, giving up 5 hits and no runs.
The second game saw freshman
Maria Molloseau return to the circle for the Sand Sharks and pick up her third win on the season. Molloseau gave up six, hits and no runs, to keep her 0.0 ERA on the season.
At the plate in the second game the Sand Sharks found help from Molloseau as well when she hit the sacrifice fly to score Melina Martinez in the bottom of the fourth.
Kylie Kelly was able to come via an error by the pitcher in the fifth inning, and later in the same frame

The Sand Sharks will play University of Pikeville (KY) tomorrow evening in a double-header slated for a 3 pm start. The morning double-header will feature College of Coastal Georgia facing off against University of Rio Grande (OH) beginning at 11 am.
