Babson Park, FL-- The USCB softball team fell to Sun Conference opponent Webber International University in both games of the double-header, 2-6 and 0-2.
USCBÂ struck first in the top half of the first inning in game one when
Kayla Boyle was able to knock a ball to center field that scored
Natassja Hatcher, who had reached earlier by being hit-by-pitch. In the bottom half of the same inning the Warriors were able to plate two runs to take the lead from a two-run shot over the fence by Laura Borders.
The Sand Sharks were able to grab another run in the sixth inning when Boykin scored via an error by the Warrior left fielder. In the bottom half of the sixth, Webber International was able to add three more insurance runs and went on to win the first game 6-2.
It took three innings in the second game to get the scoring started when Webber International's Cassidy Roberts was able to make her way around the bases and score off Meghan Lindell being hit-by-pitch. The Warriors added a second run in the fifth inning when Daisy Riggleman hit an RBI-single down the left field line to score Anna Schutzler. The Warriors went on to win the second game 2-0.
The Sand Sharks will be back in action Wednesday, March 22 when they host St. Thomas University for a double-header beginning at 12 pm.
