Hardeeville, SC-- The USCB baseball team welcomed the visiting Tigers of Stillman College (Ala.) to Richard Gray Sports Complex by taking both games of the evening, 8-7 and 5-3.
The first game saw the Sand Sharks take a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second when
Graham Hatfield hit an RBI-single to shallow center field to bring in
Chris Vazquez.
Nick Delbianco later scored off a Tiger miscue to put USCBÂ up by one.
Cole Hamilton scored in the bottom of third inning and Deblianco then helped a run across the plate with his RBI-single in the fifth to score a slidingÂ
Alex Murphy.
The Sand Sharks then added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning when
Tristan Triplett singled up the middle to bring in
Keith Olmo. Murphy then added his fifth home run of the season with a 3-run shot over the right field fence, brining in Triplett and Hamilton. The Sand Sharks closed things out with
Ryan Reynolds earning the win after coming in with the score tied in the top of the sixth.
The second game of the double-header saw the Sand Sharks jump out to a 5-run lead in th bottom of the third inning before Stillman had their first home run of the series in the top of the fourth when Joshua McDaniel knocked a 3-run shot beyond the left field fence. The 5-3 score held up the rest of the way as
Zach Hall picked up his first win of the year and
Harrison Merck had the save.
USCB will close out the series with Stillman tomorrow afternoon with another double-header at the Richard Gray Sports Complex. Live coverage will be available at

After the game Carlo Perruzza found Alex Murphy to get his thoughts on the team's performance and his fifth home run of the year:
