How It Happened

The Sand Sharks dominated the game from the beginning, as they scored the game's first goal in the fourth minute. Kalvatn collected her first career goal in a Sand Shark uniform.

USCB continued to antagonize the Florida Memorial defense, as it took three shots in the next 10 minutes. Kaeser recorded her first goal of the game in the 14th minute, which doubled the USCB lead to 2-0.

Near the midpoint of the first half, Gignilliat earned her way on to the scoresheet, as the senior tied the single-season goals scored record. The goal in the 21st minute brought her season total to 12 goals.

Just seven minutes later, freshman Gherardi pushed the lead to 4-0, as she tallied her third goal of the season. USCB earned a double assist on the goal in Kalvatn and Schaffer.

Up by four goals, USCB continued to pepper the Lion net, as the Sand Sharks posted three more goals in a four-minute span. Keaser scored her second goal of the match in the 39th minute, while Ljosland and Gignilliat scored in the 42nd and 43rd minutes, respectively.

With her second goal of the match, Gignilliat broke the single-season goals scored record with her 13th tally of the season. She broke Hayley Pina's 12-goal season that she set in 2017.

Gignilliat also extended her career goals record to 21, as she still holds the second all-time mark. The Mount Pleasant, S.C. native also brought her career points total to 49, which also ranks second all-time at USCB.
