How It Happened
Both teams opened the contest feeling each other out. In fact, the first shot wasn't taken until the eight-minute mark when Keiser's Matilda Ovenberger put a shot on goal. The attempt was saved by Leask.
One of USCB's best chances to score came in the 17th minute when Naumann found space on the right side of the field. She ripped a shot from within the 18-yard box, but the attempt went right of the net by just a few feet.
The Seahawks continued to pepper the USCB goal and eventually scored in the 42nd minute off a corner kick. Emma Holmskov found the net to give KU the 1-0 lead at the half.
The Keiser lead quickly doubled in the 49th minute, as it took advantage of a USCB miscue inside of the penalty area. Ovenberger took the penalty kick and advanced the lead to 2-0.
The Seahawks added one more goal in the 59th minute, as Alicia Drott tallied a goal just 10 minutes later.
Keiser continued to attack the USCB net, but Leask kept the Seahawks out of the net for the final 31 minutes.
