USCB baseball drops both ends of doubleheader vs. Southeastern

Hardeeville, SC- USCB baseball lost both ends of their doubleheader on Friday at Sand Shark Park against their Sun Conference foes and the defending NAIA World Series national champions the Southeastern Fire by scores of 12-2 and 31-0, both in 7 innings. USCB drops to 4-6 on the year and 0-5 in The Sun Conference, while Southeastern improves to 10-2 and 6-0 in The Sun Conference. 
 
Game 1 notes: 
* Chris Vazquez went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI 
* Steven Mojica had an RBI 
* The Sand Sharks also got hits from Cole Hamilton, Bobby Wenthe, Griffin Yeager, and Tavaris Terrell 
* Ivan Nunez led Southeastern's offense by going 2 for 3 with a home run and 5 RBIs 
* Eamonn Collins (0-2) started the game for the Sand Sharks, going 3 ⅓ innings and giving up 3 ER and 11 hits 
* Brandon Brown pitched the final 3 ⅔ innings for USCB 
* Keven Long (2-0) pitched 6 innings of 5 hit, 2 run ball for the Fire 
 
Game 2 notes: 
* The Sand Sharks' lone base hit was a single by Bragg Eastin in the 6th 
* Jayden Hartle (4-0) pitched 6 innings of 1-hit ball for Southeastern, walking 3 and striking out 3. Heibert Romero pitched a scoreless final inning for the Fire 
* The Fire's offensive barrage was led by Noah Strohl who went 4 for 7 with 2 doubles and 5 RBIs. 
* Harrison Merck (1-2) started the game for USCB going 1 ⅓ innings. 
 
The Sand Sharks will conclude their series against the Fire on Saturday at 12 noon on Hometown Hero Day at Sand Shark Park. The game will be broadcast on Stretch Internet at uscbathletics.com/live.
