Hardeeville, SC-- The USCB softball team kept the momentum going this afternoon at Richard Gray, disposing of Montreat College (NC) 9-0 and 6-0 to move their record to 4-0 to begin the 2019 season.
Game One Notes:
- USCB found eight runs in the bottom of the third to put the game away.
- Taylor Boykin reached on an error and then advanced to second on the throw with Melina Martinez going ahead to third, and Natassja Hatcher scoring the first run.
- Shania Domingue then doubled down the left field line, plating Boykin and Martinez.
- Emily Martin found herself at first on an error that then allowed her to advance to second. Domingue was able to come in on the play to push the lead to 4-0.
- Kaitlyn O'Hearn reached via another Cavs error, while Ashlynn Nelson, handling the running duties for Martin, made her way home on a passed ball.
- Senior Canyon Crosby lit up the game with an exciting 3-run bomb that scored Rachel Frankhouser (reached via walk) and O'Hearn.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Kylie Kelly hit a sacrifice fly to bring Domingue in, who had reach via walk in her appearance at the plate.
- In the circle, Canyon Crosby earned the win, going 4.0 innings, giving up 3 hits.
Game Two Notes:
- Abby Pac started her second game of the season, going the 3.0 innings, giving up 3 hits, and ringing up 2, on her way to her second win of the year.
- The scoring started in the bottom of the second when Alexa Moore hit an RBI-single to left center, scoring Haley Hawkins.
- Kayla Boyle singled up the middle to score Boykin, and Shania Domingue hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score Moore.
- The Sand Sharks picked up run number 4 when Alexa Moore hit a single to right field to bring Hawkins in for the second time in the game.
- USCB added runs in the fourth and fifth innings to wrap up their fourth win of the season.

USCB will now head on the road Saturday, February 9 when they take on St. Andrew's University in Laurinburg, North Carolina. The double-header is set to begin at 12:00 PM.
