Hardeeville, SC - USCB softball maintained their torrid start to the 2019 season, sweeping the formidable Truett McConnell Bears in Friday's doubleheader at Sand Shark Park by scores of 8-6 and 3-0, and improving to a perfect 12-0 on the year. In game 1, Natassja Hatcher broke a 6-6 tie in the bottom of the 5th with a 2-0 out, 2-run single that propelled the Sand Sharks to a hard-fought victory. In game 2, the Sand Sharks got RBI singles from Canyon Crosby - who also pitched a complete game shutout - and from Natassja Hatcher, to lead the Sand Sharks to the sweep of the Bears.

The Sand Sharks welcome the University of Rio Grande and Reinhardt University to Sand Shark Park this weekend. On Saturday, USCB plays Rio Grande at 12pm and Reinhardt University at 2pm. Rio Grande will play Reinhardt at 4pm. On Sunday, Reinhardt and Rio Grande face each other at 12pm, followed by USCB vs. Rio Grande at 2pm, and USCB vs. Reinhardt at 4pm.
