Hardeeville, SC– Despite a 1 ½ hour rain delay at the outset, USCB baseball split their doubleheader with the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats on Friday at Sand Shark Park. The Sand Sharks broke out the bats to win the 2nd game 13-2 after coming up just short in the closely contested 1st game 3-1. USCB played tremendous defense all afternoon, led by several spectacular plays by Tavaris Terrell at third base.
Game 1 Notes:
* Marino Sorbara had a sac-fly RBI
* Tristan Triplett, Bobby Wenthe, Bragg Eastin, and Chris Vazquez each had hits for the Sand Sharks
* Eamonn Collins (1-3) pitched a strong complete game for USCB, scattering 8 hits, giving up 3 runs, and striking out 5
Game 2 Notes:
* Tavaris Terrell was 2 for 2 with an RBI
* Robbie Mckinney was 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs
* Justin Owen was 1 for 1 with 2 RBIs
* Cole Hamilton, Kelvin Brito, Tristan Triplett, David Villafane, and Daniel Searles each had a hit and an RBI for the Sand Sharks
* Chris Hitchman (3-1) pitched an impressive complete game, giving up just 2 earned runs.
The Sand Sharks wrap up their series vs. Bryant & Stratton with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1pm at Sand Shark Park. They will travel to Jacksonville, FL on Tuesday to battle Edward Waters in a doubleheader beginning at 1pm. They then return home to Sand Shark Park on Saturday and Sunday to face Indiana Tech.
