THOMASVILLE, Ga. - To open a three-game road series at Thomas, the USCB baseball team dropped the opener, 11-1, to the Night Hawks on Friday at Varnedoe Stadium.

HOW GAME ONE HAPPENED
The first two innings went quickly for both squads, as neither tallied a run. Wyatt McCampbell was USCB's starting pitcher, and he only allowed two hits and left two Night Hawks stranded on base.
Thomas broke the scoreless tie in the third with three runs off two hits.Â
After another scoreless inning for both teams, Thomas extended its lead in the bottom of the fifth with five runs. Highlighting the frame was a grand slam from Randall Heller.
USCB had a chance in the sixth to plate a run, as Hamilton started a two-out rally with a single. Robbie McKinney followed with a five-pitch walk, but both Sand Sharks were left stranded.
The Sand Shark offense plated its first run in the seventh off a Terrell RBI single.
Up 8-1, Thomas added three more insurance runs in the final two innings to seal the 11-1 victory.
