Maria Molloseau Pitches a Perfect Game in DH Sweep over Trinity Baptist

Sand Sharks now perfect 22-0 at Sand Shark Park

Hardeeville, SC- It was 15 batters faced and 15 batters retired for Maria Molloseau as the Fair Play, SC sophomore threw a perfect game in game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against the Trinity Baptist Eagles at Sand Shark Park. Offensively, the Sand Sharks erupted for 19 runs on 19 hits in game 1, led by senior Alexa Moore's 3 for 4 performance including a homer (her 1st of the year), a double and 6 RBIs. In game 2, Katelyn Mangum pitched 4 ⅔ strong innings, and all-time hit leader Kayla Boyle added 2 more hits and 3 RBIs as the Sand Sharks won 11-3. The Sand Sharks offense scored 30 runs on 38 hits over the 2 games. Their overall record now stands at 30-6, and they are tied with Coastal Georgia for the best record in The Sun Conference at 10-4.

Emily Martin was 3 for 3 with an RBI 
Kaleigh Furbush was 2 for 2 with a double and 3 RBIs 
Taylor Boykin and Melina Martinez each had 2 hits 
Kayla Boyle had 2 RBIs 
Shania Domingue had a double and 2 RBIs 
Caroline Heaton had a double and 2 RBIs 
Maria Molloseau picked up her 6th win of the season with her perfect game and struck out 7.

Taylor Boykin was 3 for 3 
Rachel Frankhouser was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs 
Haley Hawkins was 3 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBIs 
Emily Martin was 3 for 4 with an RBI 
Kylie Kelly was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs 
Kayla Boyle was 2 for 3 with a triple and 3 RBIs 
Katelyn Mangum picked up her 1st win of the year, pitching 4 ⅔ innings and allowing just 5 hits and 3 runs while striking out 1. Rachel Catt came on in relief and pitched the final 
1 ⅓ Innings. 
 
USCB Softball welcomes the Ave Maria Gyrenes to Sand Shark Park on Saturday for a TSC doubleheader beginning at 12 noon. Saturday is also family/alumni day and there will be a special first pitch ceremony commemorating the day. The Sand Sharks travel to Columbia College on Tuesday, April 9, for a doubleheader at 2:00pm. They return to Sand Shark Park on Wednesday, April 10, for a TSC doubleheader vs. Southeastern at 2:00 pm. The Sand Shark Gameday Network will broadcast all home games via uscbathletics.com/live.
