LAKE WALES, Fla. - Behind freshman Madison Foshee's game-winning goal in the 72nd minute, the USCB women's soccer defeated Warner, 1-0, in a key Sun Conference match on Saturday afternoon at Royals Field.
With the pivotal victory, USCB is now guaranteed to host at least the first round of the Sun Conference Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 14. Seeding has yet to be determined, but USCB will at least be the fourth seed.Â

How It Happened
The Sand Sharks dominated the first half, as they only allowed one Warner shot. On the other hand, USCB ripped five shots, including a pair on frame in the first 45-minute session. Metzold put both shots on goal for USCB, as both came in the first 17 minutes of the game.
In the second half, it was more balanced in total shots. However, USCB had more quality chances at goal. Even in the first five minutes of the second half, Shartouny and Kalvatn had two chances to open the scoring, but both attempts didn't ripple the net.Â
The Sand Sharks continued to pepper the Warner net, including a shot on goal by Kaylee Kumar in the 54th minute and a 64th-minute chance by Kalvatn.Â
USCB had another chance to tally a goal in the 64th minute, but Metzold's shot hit the crossbar.
Still tied at 0-0 in the 72nd minute, USCB finally broke the scoreless tie off a set piece. Dina Stalnacke took the corner kick, and Foshee put a head on the ball. The header found the net to give USCB the 1-0 lead.Â
The two clubs exchanged shots for the final 18 minutes. Warner made Dame work twice in the 87th minute, as the rookie goalkeeper recorded a pair of saves.Â
With the two saves in the final three minutes of regulation, USCB preserved the shutout and claimed the 1-0 victory.Â
