HOW GAME ONE HAPPENED
The first inning had a lot of action for both teams. FMU took the 2-0 lead from a trio of hits. However, USCB tied the game at 2-all when Meyer uncorked on his second home run of the season. The blast was a two-run long ball to tie the game, 2-2.
Florida Memorial retook the lead in the top of the second thanks to another three-hit frame. Ulises Rodriguez came up with the run-scoring hit for FMU to make it a one-run game, 3-2.
Again, USCB had an answer, as Sellars came up with a solo blast to straightaway center. The homer was his third of the season and tied the game, 3-3.
After Blume worked a 1-2-3 top of the third, USCB's offense came unhinged in the home half of the inning. Behind four hits, including a three-run homer from Russ, USCB took the commanding four-run advantage, 7-4. Milhan was the other Sand Shark to collect a run-scoring hit, which was a RBI single.
Just when the Sand Sharks thought they had a comfortable lead - they added to it with a lopsided, 11-run fourth inning. Headlining the long inning for USCB was a grand slam from Sellars - the second grand slam of his career and his second homer in the game. The exciting inning for the Sand Sharks catapulted USCB into a commanding 15-run lead, 18-3.
After the first scoreless inning for both teams, Florida Memorial exchanged runs in the sixth to make it a 19-4 game. Ambrose was responsible for the lone run for USCB, as it was a solo homer to left.
Blume came back out to seal the complete-game victory. He made quick work of the Lion lineup, as he faced the minimum to give USCB its first Sun Conference victory of the year.
HOW GAME TWO HAPPENED
Play was suspended at the beginning of the third inning. USCB was leading Florida Memorial 2-1. Both teams scored all of their runs in the first.
