Middle Georgia State cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the inning off a solo homer.
After leaving two Knights on base in the third, MGA took its first lead of the contest in the bottom of the fifth. Both runs were unearned, but it gave the Knights the one-run lead, 3-2.
After exchanging runs in the sixth, Middle Georgia State took the four-run advantage following a three-run seventh inning. Back-to-back doubles with one out accounted for the runs to make the game 7-3.
