HOW IT HAPPENED

After a scoreless first inning, USCB took the 2-0 lead in the second thanks to a RBI double from Humphrey and a bases-loaded walk from Clint Sellars.

Middle Georgia State cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the inning off a solo homer.

After leaving two Knights on base in the third, MGA took its first lead of the contest in the bottom of the fifth. Both runs were unearned, but it gave the Knights the one-run lead, 3-2.

After exchanging runs in the sixth, Middle Georgia State took the four-run advantage following a three-run seventh inning. Back-to-back doubles with one out accounted for the runs to make the game 7-3.

After being held scoreless in the eighth, USCB tried to mount a comeback in the ninth. The attempt fell short, as the Sand Sharks were only able to scratch across one in the three-run loss, 7-4.
