MIAMI, Fla. - Eight USCB softball student-athletes were named to the Sun Conference All-Academic team, as Devon Weller, Ashlyn Alte, Haley Massenburg, Jazmin Ramirez, Charli Shepheard, Amber Locasto, Leah Stegall and Caitlin Toole were tabbed to the list.
To be named to the Sun Conference All-Academic team, the student-athlete must have been at USCB for two or more full semesters and have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
Alte has the highest GPA on the team, as she sports a 3.95 GPA and majors in psychology. Toole is right behind her with a 3.88 GPA, while she majors in hospitality management. Two Sand Sharks - Weller and Stegall - have matching GPAs at 3.87. Weller is majoring in early childhood education, and Stegall majors in hospitality management. Recent graduate Shepheard completed her degree in psychology, while toting a 3.67 GPA. Massenburg and Locasto also had matching GPAs at 3.65, and Ramirez rounded out the qualifying GPAs at a strong 3.62.
