OKATIE, S.C. - In the final tuneup of the 2022-23 regular season, the USCB men's golf team hosted NCAA DI Drexel on Thursday at Oldfield Golf Club, and the Sand Sharks nearly took down the Colonial Athletic Association member team, as the Dragons edged USCB, 4&2, in the match play showdown.
Highlights
Playing in match play format, USCB featured a pair of wins from Brayden Ogle and Christofer Hammar. Ogle upended Tafadzwa Nyamukondiwa 1UP, while Hammar closed Liam Hart on hole 17, 2&1.
Jacob Thomas played competitively all the way to hole 17 before he was edged 2&1 against Griffin Mitchell.
Tyler Quaill also made it to hole 18 before dropping a narrow loss to Oscar Maxfield, 2UP.
Jonas Demant and Jan Ciric also played in the match play format for USCB, but their rounds were closed out midway through the back nine.
What's Next?
The dual match with Drexel concluded regular-season action for the men's golf team. The Sand Sharks will now turn their attention to the Continental Athletic Conference Championships, which is a two-day outing in San Antonio, Texas from May 1-2.
