HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - Despite a late rally in game one, the USCB softball team fell to Georgia College, 3-2 and 6-2, on Friday to open a three-game Peach Belt Conference set at Richard Gray Stadium.

HOW GAME ONE HAPPENED
After scoreless first and second innings, the Bobcats broke the scoreless tie in the third with three runs - a bases-clearing single from Madison Todd.
The Sand Shark offense was able to get at least one runner on base in every inning but was finally able to take advantage of the traffic on the bases paths in the sixth.
After an error and a Chloe Turner single, Reynolds poked a single to left to put USCB on the board, 3-1.
After a 1-2-3 top of the seventh, USCB made the contest really interesting in the home half. Whitlock and Daryn Miller reached base safely to start the inning, and Coleman plated Whitlock from second to make it a one-run game. With the game-winning run on second, the final three outs were recorded to give GCSU the narrow win, 3-2.

HOW GAME TWO HAPPENED
Unlike game one, the first two innings featured offense from both clubs. Georgia College plated two runs in the first, while Alte connected with a sacrifice fly to make the game 2-1.
After the Bobcats added a run in the fourth, USCB matched them in the fifth with a solo run - a Reynolds sacrifice fly of her own.
Ahead 4-2, Georgia College posted insurance runs in the sixth and seventh innings to win the nightcap, 6-2.
