HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - After concluding the 2023 regular season on Sunday with a 9-4 loss to Georgia College, the USCB softball team honored its graduating seniors, post-game, at Richard Gray Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bobcats opened the scoring early with a four-run first via six hits.Â
GC added a solo run in the top of the second to extend its lead to five, but USCB countered with two runs in the second. Locasto collected the big hit for USCB - a two-RBI single up the middle.Â
The Bobcats tacked on one more run in the third, and USCB, again, responded - this time with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame. The two runs came off the big bat of Reynolds - a two-run homer over the left field fence. The homer brought the deficit to just two, 6-4.
After a quick fourth, the Bobcats added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
USCB showed grit in those two frames with three combined hits but couldn't capitalize with runs.Â
Georgia College added one more run in the seventh and worked a 1-2-3 home-half of the seventh to win the finale, 9-4.Â

WHAT'S NEXT?
USCB will now rest and prepare for the Continental Athletic Conference Tournament. The NAIA postseason outing is hosted by Georgia Gwinnett and will be held at the Grizzly Sports Complex from May 4-6. The two automatic qualifiers will be decided by giving the two teams that reach the championship a berth to the NAIA National Championship.Â
