ROCKY FACE, Ga. - In a tournament field that features 12 teams in top 20 in the NAIA, the USCB men's golf team is in fifth after 36 holes at the Roadrunner Classic on Monday at the Farm Golf Club.
Day One Highlights
As a team, USCB is in fifth place out of 12 teams at the Roadrunner Classic. USCB went 13-over 301 in the first round followed by 19-over 307 to currently sit 32-over 608.
Jacob Thomas leads the surge for the Sand Sharks at tied for 14th at 6-over 150. Thomas had a stellar opening round at 1-under 71, which featured four birdies - all coming from holes 10-18. He ended the day at 7-over 79.
Jonas Demant moved up the leaderboard after the second, 18-hole round with his strong 1-over 73 performance. He struggled with a 7-over 79 in the first round, but his near-par, second-round effort had seven birdies during the 18-hole stretch. With his six-stroke improvement, he leapfrogged up the leaderboard by 15 spots to slot in a tie for 23rd.
Jan Ciric had the third-best day for USCB. He is tied for 36th at 12-over 156.
Brayden Ogle and Christofer Hammar are tied with one another in 45th at 14-over 158. Playing as an individual, Connor Thomas is in 62nd at 21-over 165.
Jakob Stavang Stubhaug of Keiser leads the field at 3-under 141. Steve Kibare of Dalton State is one stroke back at 2-under 142.
Coastal Georgia posted a sub-par second round score to lead the team leaderboard at 13-over 589. Kaiser is second at 14-over 590.
What's Next?
The third and final round of the Roadrunner Classic is set to begin at 8 a.m. on hole one. USCB will be paired with Coastal Georgia, Kaiser and Dalton State.
