LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - In a challenging mid-week, road tilt, the USCB softball team brought out the big bats, as three Sand Sharks slugged home runs to claim a split with No. 11 Georgia Gwinnett, 8-3 and 3-0, on Tuesday afternoon at the Grizzly Softball Complex.
INSIDE THE GAME ONE BOX SCORE

Harlee Walker and Jaci Coleman - two singles and one run each

HOW GAME ONE HAPPENED
After a scoreless first, USCB's offense went to work by enforcing five runs. Reynolds started the rally with a one-out solo homer. Walker and Jazmin Ramirez followed with back-to-back singles, and then a two-out rally started for USCB - headlined by a three-run blast from Locasto. The fifth run of the frame was eventually scored thanks to a Grizzly error, as USCB posted a commanding 5-0 lead after an inning-and-a-half.
USCB added an insurance run in the third when Chang unloaded with a solo blast of her own.
Georgia Gwinnett couldn't muster a hit until the fourth inning, and the Grizzlies took advantage when they did by plating three runs.
Kinlaw was stellar in the final three innings for USCB. She only allowed two hits in the three-inning stretch, but neither Grizzly would reach scoring position to see out the five-run win - 8-3.

The sixth inning featured all of GGC's offense by plating three runs off two hits and an error.
USCB threatened in the seventh by putting two on base with one out, but the final two outs were recorded before USCB could crack the scoreboard.
