HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The USCB softball team posted six runs in the fourth inning, which was highlighted by a grand slam from Zinia Hampleton, but Young Harris barely edged the Sand Sharks, 10-8, in the rubber match on Saturday at Richard Gray Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The two clubs exchanged solo runs in the the first inning, as Hannah Carey earned sac fly for YHC and Taelor Chang earned a RBI on a ground out for USCB.
Tied 1-1 after two complete, Young Harris posted four runs in the third, which was broken up by a 90-minute rain delay.
The Sand Sharks made it a three-run contest in the bottom of the third when Alte collected a RBI on a sacrifice fly.
The Mountain Lions pushed across two runs in the fourth to make it a 7-2 game, but USCB didn't cave by posting one of its biggest scoring frames of the year - six runs in the fourth.
Most of the damage in the six-run frame came off Hampleton's bat when she clobbered a grand slam to straight away center to make it a one-run game, 7-6. After two singles and a stolen base, Alte poked a single of her own, which plated Amber Locasto and Coleman to give USCB its first lead of the game, 8-7.
After a scoreless fifth inning, Young Harris retook the lead with a three-run six to take a two-run lead, 10-8.
The Sand Shark's best chance to regain the lead came in the sixth when Whitlock earned a leadoff, infield single. However, she would be left in scoring position, as the Mountain Lions saw out the two-run win.
