Men’s Golf 8-under third round sends USCB into seventh at Hurricane Invite

ALBANY -- After a first round that saw USCB card a 7-over team score, the Sand Sharks trimmed five shots in round two to finish 2-over before carding the fifth-best round in the tournament at 8-under in Tuesday's final led by Aaron Williams 67.

Williams finished the tournament at 1-over, but his third round 67 topped Beaufort's lineup. The junior began his final round with four straight birdies and made the turn at 3-under. He would go on to par holes 9 and 10 before collecting two more birdies on 12 and 13.

Eric Nord led the way for Beaufort finishing 1-under. The Blythewood native carded rounds of 1-under and 2-under during Monday's first 36 holes and then shot 2-over in Tuesday's finale.

The rest of USCB's lineup, Ellis Bright, Nikolai Holme, and Erik Rengardt all posted a score of 76 for the tournament.

Beaufort will break for one week before wrapping up the fall season at the McCoy Wright Currahee Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 21-22.
