Kevaughn Price and
Marcus Overstreet shot over 75 percent from the field, scoring 14 and 10 points respectively, and
Larry Bulluck posted 14 points, but Georgia Southwestern shot over 60 percent from the three-point line in the second half to knock off USCB 101-71 Saturday night at the Strom Dome.
The Sand Sharks were down by 10 at the half and trimmed the lead to four early in the second half, but that's when the Canes started knocking down a wave of triples. a 30-8 run over seven minutes gave GSW all the momentum.
Kyle Polce hit a three-pointer of his own to end the run, but the deficit was too much to overcome.
USCB returns home to face Georgia College on Valentine's Day. Wednesday's contest will be the Sand Sharks first Teddy Bear Toss. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. inside the Cove.
