Rengardt 3-under, Sand Sharks in 10th at Mizuno Intercollegiate

GAINESVILLE -- Freshman Erik Rengardt carded a team-best 3-under par tournament to lead USCB's effort as the Sand Sharks finished with an 11-over 875 score this week at the Mizuno Intercollegiate.

The Stockholm native opened the round with birdies on holes two and four. He birdied the par-5 sixth to drop to 4-under and finished the first round with a score of 70. Rengardt continued his strong play in the second round shooting even par on the front nine and 1-under on the back. In Tuesday's finale, he began his round with four straight pars before consecutive birdies on five and six. He finished his final round with a 72 to finish 3-under.

Ellis Bright posted rounds of 72, 71, and 73 finishing tied for 38th. Aaron Williams placed 52nd overall with a 4-over 220 score while Nikolai Holme finished at 9-over. Christofer Hammar rounded out Beaufort's lineup with a 236 score. Jan Ciric played as an individual and finished tied with teammate Williams at 4-over.

USCB travels to Greenville, SC next week for the Bearcat Fall Classic beginning Monday Sept. 30.
