Gattozzi, Pelote score 15 each, Sand Sharks fall to 10th ranked UNG

DAHLONEGA -- USCB had three players in double-figures, but No. 10 North Georgia shot nearly 50 percent from the field and won 91-54 Saturday afternoon.
 
Lydia Gattozzi and Brianna Pelote each scored 15 points and Janiyah Heyward added 12.
 
Pelote scored six of the Sand Sharks 10 first quarter points. USCB attempted five shots from beyond the arc but failed to convert any of them. UNG went 4-for-4 from three-point land and held a 14 lead after one quarter of play.
 
Beaufort was held to only 11 points in the second period and USCB was down 47-21 at the half.
 
North Georgia would take control in the second half by scoring 44 points. Emily Trushel scored a game-best 33 points.
 
The Sand Sharks travel to USC Aiken on Monday in the makeup game from earlier in the season that was postponed due to the weather. Tip-off versus the Pacers is set for 5:30 p.m.
