GAINESVILLE, GEORGIA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's golf team wrapped up the first two rounds of the UNG Mizuno Intercollegiate on Monday, finishing the day in seventh place with a team score of 582 (290-292) at Chattahoochee Golf Club.
Host school North Georgia leads the 54 hole event after day one with a score of 566 (286-280).
USCB was led by Octavio Laurent, who delivered two steady rounds of 71 (-1), placing him in a tie for ninth at 142 (-2). Laurent recorded five birdies and 28 pars second-most in the field to pace the Sand Sharks.
Dylan Allen followed, finishing the day at even-par 144 (69-75). Allen fired the lowest round of the day for USCB with a 3-under 69 in the opening 18 holes. He also led the entire tournament field in birdies, collecting 10 alongside 18 pars.
Nikolai Holme provided a strong performance for the Sand Sharks, highlighted by the team's only eagle of the day, which came on the first hole in round two. He added six birdies and 20 pars to finish at 146 (74-72), tying for 23rd overall.
Alfie Reynolds bounced back in round two to shoot 74, improving from a 76 in the opening round to finish the day at 150. He closed Monday tied for 53rd with 22 pars and four birdies.
Christofer Hammar, who posted rounds of 78 and 80 for a two-round total of 158 for 76th in the field. Hammar recorded 21 pars and one birdie, finishing the day tied for 76th.
The Sand Sharks will return to the course Tuesday, September 16, for the final round of the UNG Mizuno Intercollegiate.
