BLUFFTON, SOUTH CAROLINA – On Monday afternoon, the Peach Belt Conference announced its weekly Golfer of the Week honors, and Octavio Laurent of the University of South Carolina Beaufort earned Men's Golfer of the Week for his standout performance at the Hurricane Invitational.

The Sand Sharks placed fourth overall in the tournament, led by Laurent, who tied for second individually on the leader board earning him conference honors.

Laurent delivered a consistent and impressive showing across three rounds. After opening with a 74 (+2) in the first round, he followed with back-to-back rounds of 69 (-3) to finish with a total score of 212 (-4). Over the three rounds, he tallied 13 birdies the second most in the field and added 33 pars. His two rounds of 69 mark his lowest round scores of the season.

The Sand Sharks will return to action on October 13 at the Bash in the Boro, hosted by NCAA Division I Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia.
