COLUMBUS, GEORGIA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort baseball team opened its three-game series against Columbus State with a back-and-forth thriller, using a six-run seventh inning to secure a 10–9 victory in the opener.

USCB answered a six-run sixth inning by Columbus State with six runs of its own in the seventh to reclaim the lead and hold on late.
