CLEVELAND, TENNESSEE – The University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) Women's Golf team opened its 2026-27 season on Monday, completing the first two rounds of the opening tournament. The Sand Sharks are competing in the City with Spirit Fall Classic, hosted by Lee University at Cleveland Country Club.
Through the opening two rounds of the tournament, USCB sits 12th overall with a team total of 631. The Sand Sharks posted their best round of the day in the opening 18 holes, finishing with a 311.
Lincoln Memorial leads the tournament after two rounds with a total of 584. Their best round was a 290, finishing eight over par.
USCB's leaders after day one are Manon Tortelier and Melinda Hsu, who are tied for 44th overall after finishing the two rounds with totals of 157. Tortelier posted a team-best round of 76 in the opening round, while Hsu recorded a 77 over the first 18 holes.
Tortelier tied for the team lead with five birdies on the day while adding 16 pars through the first two rounds. Hsu finished with 21 pars over the two rounds along with two birdies.
Keira Wolf finished the two rounds with a total of 158 after posting her best round of the day with a 78 in the second round. Wolf finished the opening day with one birdie while recording a team-best 23 pars.
Kate Gunnells is tied for 64th after the first 36 holes of the City with Spirit Fall Classic with a total of 160. Her best round came in the opening round, when she carded a 79. Gunnells finished with 16 pars on the day while adding five birdies, tying for the team lead.
Camila Giordani is tied for 71st on the leaderboard after finishing the two rounds with a 162. Her best round was a 79. Giordani recorded 19 pars through the first two rounds while adding one birdie.
Brooke Niclaus competed as the Sand Sharks' individual golfer in the season-opening tournament and finished tied for 53rd after day one with a total of 159. Niclaus posted a best round of 77 and finished the two rounds with three birdies and 20 pars.
The Sand Sharks will conclude the opening tournament of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 15, with the third and final round of the City with Spirit Fall Classic.
