DAHLONEGA, GEORGIA — The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's golf team opened the 2026-27 fall season Monday at the Lake Lanier Collegiate Classic, hosted by North Georgia at Achasta Golf Club.

After completing the opening round and playing through holes 11-13 of the second round, play was suspended due to darkness and will resume Tuesday morning. The Sand Sharks currently sit tied for seventh overall, while host North Georgia leads the team standings after the opening day.

USCB is led by Leif Breede, who sits tied for third individually at five under par. Breede opened the tournament with a 71 (+1) before playing his second round at five under par through the 13 holes completed Monday. He recorded nine birdies and 19 pars during the opening day.

Benxing Shi is next for the Sand Sharks, sitting tied for 32nd. Shi carded a 71 in the opening round and is even par through the portion of his second round completed Monday, leaving him at one over par for the tournament. He recorded five birdies and a team-high 20 pars.

Alex Yuill is tied for 43rd at two over par. Yuill also opened with a 71 and finished the day with six birdies and 19 pars.

Nikolai Holme sits tied for 77th at eight over par. He was two over par following the opening round and recorded four birdies and 19 pars during Monday's play.

Jake Heinrich rounds out the Sand Sharks lineup in 86th at 11 over par. Heinrich posted an 80 in the opening round and recorded three birdies and 16 pars on the day.

The Sand Sharks will return to action Tuesday morning to complete the remaining holes of the second round before moving into the third and final round of the Lake Lanier Collegiate Classic. USCB will conclude the Lake Lanier Collegiate Classic Tuesday at Achasta Golf Club.
