MCCORMICK, SOUTH CAROLINA — The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's golf team completed the opening day of the Savannah Lakes Women's Invitational, hosted by Lander University at Monticello Golf Club.
The Sand Sharks sit 15th overall after 36 holes with a team score of 632 (320-312). North Georgia leads the tournament heading into the final round.
USCB is led by Keira Wolf, who is tied for 54th after rounds of 79 and 76 for a 155 total. Wolf recorded three birdies and 20 pars, tying for the team lead in both categories.
Manon Tortelier is next for the Sand Sharks with a 159 total after rounds of 82 and 77. Tortelier matched Wolf with a team-high 20 pars and added two birdies.
Camila Giordani is tied for 72nd at 160 after posting back-to-back rounds of 80. She recorded three birdies, tying for the team lead, along with 16 pars.
Melinda Hsu and Brooke Niclaus are both tied for 77th at 162. Hsu opened with her best round of the day, a 79, and finished with one birdie and 16 pars. Niclaus carded her best round in the second, a 79, while recording two birdies and 19 pars.
The Sand Sharks will conclude the Savannah Lakes Women's Invitational on September 22.
