BLUFFTON, SOUTH CAROLINA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort soccer team faced Coker University on Wednesday afternoon, as the Cobras earned a 2-0 win over the Sand Sharks after scoring two second-half goals.
"I thought we saw a ton of the ball and created a lot of good chances. We didn't take ours and they took theirs, and that's how soccer goes sometimes," stated head coach Gary Boughton.
USCB falls to 3-2 on the season in its final game before conference play. Coker improves to 2-3 on the year.
The Sand Sharks finished with 17 shots in the game, including seven on goal. Coker finished with two goals on 13 shots. Sophia Willis led USCB with six shots in the game, while Addie Rollison earned the start in goal and made seven saves.

After a Sand Sharks shot was saved early in the second half, the Cobras responded with a breakaway that led to the game's first goal after a lead pass in front gave Coker a 1-0 lead.
In the 74th minute, Coker extended its lead to 2-0 after a cross led to a shot into the upper-right part of the goal.
Coker held a 2-0 lead with about 15 minutes left to play. USCB had a couple more shots in the final few minutes, but the Cobras closed out the 2-0 win over the Sand Sharks on Wednesday.
