Marshall was born on March 27th, 1989 and is the son of Donald Meyer and Kim Johnson.  A two time all-state cross country runner while at Bluffton High School, he finished fifth in the state 3A championship race as a junior and helped Bluffton win two state team championships.   Prior to the opening of Bluffton HS, Marshall spent his first two prep years at Hilton head HS where he was a state qualifier in both cross country and track. He was coached in high school by Dana House, Bill Wrightson and Max Mayo.
