John was born October 11th, 1989 and is the son of Glen and Wendy Critchlow.  He graduated from Colchester (VT) HS.  John was a top ten finisher at the Vermont State High School XC Championships as a senior and ran personal bests of 4:11 (1500) and 9;12 (3000) to finish fourth in both events at the 2008 Vermont State High School Championships.  He was also an all state cross country skier.  He was coached by Morgan Samler and Leigh Mallory in high school.
